Surrogacy, Donor Conception & LGBTQ+ Family Building

Abbi comes to third-party reproduction from both sides of the experience. She and her wife spent nearly four years in fertility treatment, building their family through donor conception. That stretch included medication protocols, repeated failed cycles, and a late pregnancy loss, along with the point where becoming parents stopped feeling possible. They are now mothers to two daughters. Abbi has since served as a gestational carrier for another family, giving them what she describes as the thing she is most grateful to have herself.

Her clinical background is in trauma. For nearly a decade she has worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, supporting adults, children, and families in both legal and therapeutic roles. Earlier in her career she focused on individuals involved in the criminal justice system and the trauma tied to that experience. That work shapes how she approaches sensitive conversations: direct, empathic, and without judgment.

Today her focus is fertility and third-party reproduction. She works with intended parents, gestational carriers, and donors navigating the medical, emotional, and relational weight of building a family this way, including LGBTQ+ parents building families through donor conception and surrogacy. Having lived the process herself, she understands how much is happening beneath the logistics, and she meets people in both the joy and the frustration of it. Abbi is based in Ohio.
